Good news at TADA! last week —
Wide-awake Jake, our first live production with a live family audience since the Pandemic began opened to thunderous applause on March 6th! It was so wonderful to see families back in the lobby anxiously waiting for the house to open, to hear them laugh in the theater while watching the actors perform onstage, and to see them take pictures in the lobby with the actors following the performance. It was also great that this first show back was directed and choreographed by RYET Alum, Kubbi and Javier Cardenas (it was actually his first musical choreography credit) respectively. Wide-awake Jake has 8 more performances — buy your tickets now and tell all your friends – after two years of no audiences we need your help to spread the word!
Last week we also welcomed a new member to the TADA! family – Archie Crawford.
Archie is the new Director of Development. It was a crazy busy week to start. Archie comes to TADA! most recently from Mercy Center Bronx, where he was the Director of Development, overseeing the Development Department with an over $4M budget. In the past 23 years, Archie has an established track record raising the level of fundraising and donor relations for education, higher education, and other non-profits including tenures with the Newark College of Engineering, as well as The Drama League of New York.
If you’d like to work at TADA!, there are still a number of open positions in all areas. We are also looking for additional Board Members to join our friendly, dedicated and hardworking group. If you are interested, please see our website for more information.
This is also the time of year when the City Council chooses which organizations they’re interested in supporting in FY23. TADA! relies on these discretionary funds and initiatives. Do you know any City Council Members? Would you be willing to help us set up a meeting so we can tell them first hand about TADA! and the application we submitted? TADA! is located in Manhattan but we serve youth, teens, families and schools in all five boroughs.
