New Year, New Connections

New Year, New Connections
December 31, 2023
Dear Friends and Family,
Happy New Year’s Eve and Happy New Year! This past year has been filled with a lot of ups and downs but there have also been some things that have remained consistent like TADA!’s mission, vision and programming that connects thousands of NYC/NJ youth each year. As we’re heading to 2024 I can’t wait to see what new connections we make.
Connections are so important.
It’s also a game I play daily. It started out with Wordle. Everyone was playing it and posting on social media. Now it’s Connections. You need to figure out the 4 words that belong together. They aren’t always the ones that first seem to belong together.
As we’ve been talking to Alum, RYET members, students, and parents, a common thread is the connections that began and are made at TADA!, friendships that continue with them over the years. Like the game, they are not always the connections you expect. I have made some of my best friends through TADA!. In fact, the reason my daughter exists is because her father and I first connected at TADA!.
Theater is about connections – in rehearsal, on stage, in the audience, among the creators, and/or in the classroom. The connections you make in your mind as you think about the work you just saw or when you discuss a show with friends and family or on social media.
Connections.
People need – want – desire – hope for connections with other – it’s what makes us human.
TADA! needs you to help us keep making new connections for our kids, schools, playwrights, composers and families. Help TADA! today with a donation (which will be tripled thanks to two donors). Your gift will enable our kids to continue to create, grow and play.
And as a gift to you – Here’s a Connections game I made up for your enjoyment:

Did you get all four categories? The solution will be coming in a couple of weeks with my next Notes from Nina!
TADA! has a lot of puzzles it’s trying to solve right now. You can be one of the solutions by giving now.
Wishing you a Happy New Year filled with new connections.
Best,
