Tastes and Teasers

Dear Friends and Family,

It was so great to have those few days of beautiful spring weather with the sun shining. Such a tease, right? Did anyone else put away their heavy winter coats, scarves, and gloves? It makes one long for those nice days so much more when you’ve gotten a little taste.

This note will be full of little tastes of what’s happened recently at TADA! and teasers of what’s still coming up…

  • Linked here is the FY25 Annual Report full of facts and figures and photos and quotes – so even if you weren’t able to catch everything at TADA! last year, you can now catch up!
  • I can’t tell you how many people have told me in the lobby following Everything About School (almost) that this is their favorite production (yes, I’ve been at the theater for every show!). So I can say pretty confidently, you don’t want to miss it! There’s one more weekend – this weekend (3/20 – 3/22) – to catch it live on stage…which is the best way to see live theater in my opinion. However, you’re in luck, because if you can’t make it live, you will be able to catch it at a bargain price of $10 when we stream it along with our past fall production of Sleepover. Streaming will start in mid-April.
  • Speaking of April, on Sunday, April 26th we will be celebrating TADA!’s 41 years of producing original musicals performed by kids for kids, free RYET program, and musical theater classes, camps, and school residencies at our Gala at the Edison Ballroom. This year we’re honoring the Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell (Ragtime, Kiss Me, Kate, Man of La Mancha, Shuffle Along, Glee, The Gilded Age) and the evening will be hosted by the hilarious TV, Film, and Stage Actor Jason Kravits (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Only Murders in the Building, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Practice).

The gala will be full of fun and tasty treats – we just went to the tasting yesterday. The food is going to be great – starting off with passed hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour, and then you sit down to a three course meal, but don’t eat too much because you want to save room for the incredible desserts – chocolate lava cakes with fresh berries and creme anglaise and a lemon meringue tart. There’s also a wonderful performance featuring Broadway stars, as well as stars of the future – members of RYET! To wet your palate – here’s a little teaser reel from last year’s event.

The gala is our major fundraiser of the year, so it also includes a silent and live auction with some incredible items such as: Yankee Legends Box Tickets, a trip to sunny Terranea Resort in California, and tickets that let you skip the line and catch a Shakespeare in the Park Public Theater production. For some items, you don’t have to wait til the gala – we are having a Plan Your Summer Fun Pre-Event Auctionwhere you can start bidding on select lots now!

This is a long Notes from Nina. I thank you for reading through the end and I hope to see you soon!

Best,
